Businesses have a growing need for ever more data storage. Datomia® installations have unlimited scalability when they are running over public data centers. When Datomia® has only third party private data centers as the underlying infrastructure, it can still be scaled by adding new storage nodes from a provisioned list of storage providers.

Adding a new storage node to the system is possible without any downtime, and it can be performed at any time. It is transparent to clients. There are no restrictions over the disk space of newly added storage nodes. It can be from a single terabyte of data to petabytes.

Linear Performance

The performance of the system scales linearly with the number of storage nodes in the system. This means adding a new storage node will increase the available capacity and improve the overall performance of the system. The system will automatically move some of your data to the newly added storage node, because it balances space usage across all connected nodes. Removing a storage node is as straightforward as adding a node.

The use of multi-vendor storage nodes allows the Datomizer® to parallelize operations across vendors, which further contributes to its throughput.
